. . . to find out what's going on, but AFAIK, the only one he responded to was Rod - in a rather terse way, stating that "everything is fine" or something to that effect.

And, as you suspected, Ivan is not his real name. I'd love it if he would return too, but, as far as I can see, such a return doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Thanks. I do know his name too, from when we went to the Symphony., posted on July 11, 2024 at 11:19:57

I guess you never know. Maybe he's OK but his wife isn't, or vice versa. I remember on some of his posts he would make these odd references to the possibility that he might not be around for much longer. Of course, that's a comment which, I suspect, could apply to MOST of us here! (OK, that's just some Gallows Humor!)

Also, people do move on from certain activities in their lives, and it's always possible that "Ivan" decided he just wanted to move on too, although, frankly, that would surprise me.

Of the four of us who went to the SF Symphony for that one concert, you and I are the only two left: jdaniel quit in a huff after Rod gave him an enforced "vacation" for starting to post here under two different monikers, and "Ivan" mysteriously disappeared.

Speaking for myself, I'm also sad that Analog Scott left (also because of a dispute with Rod). I think he had a lot of insights into a lot of things (even though I didn't always agree with him) - not to mention he would sometimes give us the inside scoop on the latest happenings with Yuja!

...also because of a dispute with Rod

it's because...

Scott, leave it be.

His "bets" to many here were hilarious!
