I finished the job several months ago. Big improvement in all areas. Well worth it.

Thanks. Any chance of a photo?
For my part I have always had rather negative feelings about the filling/mass loading of the 3 inner spaces between the outer subchassis and the central bearing mount with a resin and sand mix. It uses an aluminium pie dish as the former I seem to recall. Is it still like that?
I'll try and post something.
I can understand your reservations. Many opportunities to mess it all up.
I took my time and Gert was very helpful. The metal chassis spaces are filled with body work resin. No more pie dish. The sand reservoir is made from molded plastic. It all went together well and looks nice. Solid and professional looking.
The improvements are substantial. An entirely different turntable. Every parameter sounds better.
If you scroll down, Gert's images of various modified Orbe SE turntables are pictured and look exactly like mine with different tonearms (mine is a Graham 2.2 with a newly rebuilt Lyra Helikon cartridge).
The kit I received looks exactly like one in the first picture where you can see the molded plastic sand reservoir.
If you are careful and do the job correctly, it's a very solid outcome. It really exceeded all my expectations, easily worth it, very professional, nothing kludgy.
My only caution would be to drain the sand and include in it the supplied container if shipping, just to be on the safe side.
