Hi, made this expensive cable lifter. It provides less strain on the cable end and the jack improving electron flow by insuring maximum metal to metal contact. Plus, it has a sponge loaded spring holding action holding the cables from going astray....cat action, ect. The neater your wiring looks to you the better it will sound.I call this the (Monk) factor. The lifter is a painters sanding sponge, dug out of the trash and cut a couple places with a butter knife, or a dull utility knife. It works great!....Mark Korda

Hi House 13, when I saw your set up I thought (ingenious), if I spelled that right. Then the idea of that cable acting like an antenna kept entering my mind. What do you think about radio frequency entering the cable. It sure looks great what ever, nice job!....Mark K.
It seems to me that any poorly designed cable can act as an antenna whether it is laying on the floor or elevated above it. I experience no such problem with the TARA Labs 0.3 Loudspeaker Cable I am using.

Paul McGowan of PS Audio recommends speaker cable lifters, which is good enough reason for me. I have mine attached to the posts on my equipment racks with cable ties. But almost anything will work just fine. No need to spend big money.

Problem solved!
Expensive cable lifters aren't really necessary unless one wants to spend the money on them.

I use fingertip towel rings. There is no way for the cable to fall off the support because it it threaded through the rings.. The base is weighted so it will not fall over. The weight of the cable makes it self stabilizing as well.
If I were "hankering" for a cable lifter, that might be my #1 choice.
Target has a good selection. See link for an example.
Thx for the tip.
