my preamp (Icon Audio L4 MKII) comes with Shunguang 274A rectifier
since the original Western Electric is either unobtanium or insanely expensive, and since
the other two current production (FullMusic and Emission Lab) are rather expensive too,
i wonder what NOS equivalents are available for this tube
it should be EXACT equivalents, not to create any problem to the preamp;
i just would like to do some tube rolling with the rectifier too! :)
TIA!

A preamp isn't likely to need anywhere remotely close to the 225 mA rating of the 274A. An 80 (which is rated for 125 mA) should be a perfectly good substitute. The 5Z3 needs 3A for the heater vs. 2A for the 274A, so you'd need to be sure the transformer can take the extra current.
There are tubes which can be used, however, only a 274A will "be EXACT equivalents". A 5Z3 will be close, except that it has a 3 amp filament.
If it were me, I would leave that rectifier alone.
5Z3 is a GREAT rectifier! Also 5U4G (Octal base)
It is relatively easy to make a four pin to 8 pin adapter. In fact I believe you can purchase them premade.
