Someone on another forum mentioned them, and they look very interesting to this tube lover....
Follow Ups:
Zingali makes everything from very small to gigantic.
I have heard a good number of the large to gigantic and couple small ones, all though I show conditions. At shows I always search out horn loaded speakers of which they offer number of models.
All of the Zings I've heard or seen are hybrid direct bass radiator and horn loaded mid/tweeter combo
They even had a very small but wood elegant model think was called the Roman Cinema.
The big boys with the large format (12 inch or bigger) were always the models that were demonstrated.
As should be expected, they an do "big sound with ease" that many hi-eff speakers present. Always they did an excellent job of the difficult dance of,acting direct with horn. Neither was more prominent or dominant.
Enclosures stiffness or deadness are never a question .
They were able to perform with flea amps and arc welder amps
They use wood for horns and enclosures that is both technically and visually stunning.
They had not had a presence in my country for several years, but last year at an audio show they returned with another large format large horn two way. And for the first time they did not sound that great. The sound was stuck to speakers, the horn and direct radiator were reaLly fighting to be predominant. Sound didn't give the sense of fill the room but they were loud. Real one off presentation to Zingalis of the past
But we are talking about a line that does have heafty price tags, so doubt that big boys are in your budget.
So what size and price you interested in? I have only seen static displays of the smaller models, not heard most of those marks
Thanks for feedback. The one that looks most interesting to me is the Twenty Evo 1.2. The Quantum Arrays also look interesting as well.
Not the 12" version.
I expect it to be similar in presentation and may intergrate in most people's rooms better.
Like most large format horn hybrid speakers unless coaxial, require some distance to listener to integrate the drivers output . Same goes for Zings but the distance may be more due to the large diameter wood horn which pushes the two drivers farther apart.
Not near field speakers.
They also like to be away from walls corners as bass output is far from whimpy.
Not small room speakers.
Not unique to Zingali as all large format higher efficiency marks are balancing the trade off of speaker size versus room size minimums.
very helpful, thanks. Have you ever heard Cessaros? I had my first experience of them at Capital Audio Fest this year and was blown away. A lot more $ though.
Heart them Witz Cayin amplifiers. They sound very good.
Thanks. Do you remember which model?
