In order for Foobar ASIO plugin to work, sound card needs to have support for ASIO - either through native drivers (as with M-Audio, EMU, Lynx etc.), or through application like ASIO4ALL that simulates that functionality, if sound card doesn't have native ASIO support (which is the case for Realtek).
If you have access to you AMD-based laptop, open "Output" section in Foobar options and look up what's listed as source in ASIO plugin configuration.
Follow Ups:
Managed to get Asio working (with Asio4All) using J.River's Media Jukebox, on the Acer. Thanks again.:-)
