They used to offer some rock albums in 24-352 resolution. My Oppo BDP 105 couldn't play them but the connected Ayre Codex DAC could. Unfortunately via USB, which the Oppo doesn't do. I bought Alan Parsons in 24-352 for the future.
The new Aurender N200 has USB output and with the Ayre plays 24-352 with ease. Thought it would be nice to download the Doors album as well. Now neither seem to be on HDTracks. Anyone know why?
Thanks,
barondla

I'm most of all surprised by that number 352.
Looks like something simply oversampled.
The Well Tempered Computer
There are modern recordings made originally in DXD (24/352.8 or 32/352.8). OTOH, it is questionable whether there is any real value in digitizing old recordings, such as the ones under discussion here, at such sample rates.
especially "classic rock".
Music downloads in general have been on a steep decline for decades and with 'hi-res' streaming services for audiophiles download businesses like HDTracks are probably on life support.Even HDTracks is finalizing plans for a streaming service partnering with Lenbrook Media Group -- you know, the folks who acquired MQA technology - something we don't need.
P.S. For the price of one hi-res album download I can stream from a selection of several thousand hi-res albums all day long everyday for a month.... at less than $15/mo. All you can eat... and it's Yummy!

I'm doing that right now! Someone I never heard of and wouldn't buy if I did, but that's the beauty of it. In hi-res too, 24/96. Maddy Kirgo is her name. Time to find another obscure musician...
Don't know what happened to them but my guess certain things have to do with the site's agreements with record labels
