Any thoughts about vintage h/k citation 14tuner?
Follow Ups:
is the same without the dolby. a most DIRECT sounding tuner. like listening to the studio board. i miss mine, it failed decades ago. built like a tank and a true high end product.
I have a 15 and find it a very good tuner. I bought it on ebay and it said powered up, untested. Well now I know that means, doesn't work. Only spent $50 bucks for it so was willing to take a chance. Had it fixed by a former HK technician relatively inexpensively and now have a great tuner. Very quiet and lots of sensitivity. I know dolby fm units came in in the early 70s, but are there any stations broadcasting dolby? Is there any other use for the dolby feature?David
only was good for stations that broadcast in dolby. the citation 14 had an additional gang of tuning capacitors and therefore was theoretically a more robust tuner.
thanks for coments guys> > > Wish i had any idea to use that fm feature> > > it sharpens the high end and not a bad effect> > > unit is built to last, must weight 30 pounds in wood cabnet,,i bought one in 1973 for around 600$> > lost it in a house fire and now replaced it from a local vintage store for 175$ .Was able to get the manual from h/k site
