I was talking about trying to take a piece of text and move it to the
address bar. For example, if I write http://www.audioasylum.com in
plain text I would try to highlight it and access the address somehow
without having to type it out in my address bar. It seems like alot
of links are posted that way in plain text (not URL form) and you have
to type them in the address bar to go to the link the poster is referring to.Chris was suggesting that more people put their links in the URL slot
at the bottom of the posting window so you can just point and click.I'll try what you suggested though, but so far I've not been able to
get it to work for me. I have MS IE 6.

HowdyAlso if you're not a big fan of using the right menu for copy and paste you can use
c for copy and v for Paste.
1. Select (highlight into blue) the text link and right click on the selected text.2. Click on copy in the menu that appears when you right click on the selected text.
3. Go up into "file", then "new" and then click on "window". (Alternatively you can press Ctrl+N on your keyboard).
4. A new IE window will pop up.
5. In this new window select the entire text in the address bar.
6. Right click on the selected text.
7. In the menu that pops up click on "paste" , the address that you previously "copied" will now appear in the address bar.
8. Finally just hit the "enter" key or click the "go" button as you prefer.
After taking your advice and playing around a bit, I discovered you
can simply highlight the link, left-click on the address bar to highlight it, then right-click and paste from the address bar and it
moves the highlighted link from the window to the address bar. You then simply press enter to access the link.
Thanks again. You can try it on http://www.audioasylum.com if you want.
Charles
you have to select all the text in the address bar to overwrite it. Also as Ted Smith mentioned you can do it even faster if you prefer, by selecting the text link and pressing CTRL+C to copy and then CTRL+V to paste in the address bar. Some people prefer this method.
..and that someone would come along who knew how. Thanks again.
