Enjoy.
Follow Ups:
Many thanks to you all, especially you, Dmitry, for your efforts on my behalf. Believe me, it is really appreciated.
The picture of the album cover reminded me how I got the cassette. The album was owned by our local library, and I made a backup copy of this. However before I could deliver it, the library decided to shut down the record lending section, so the cassette has lain unused until now when I chanced upon it.
To anybody interested, especially you, P. Harvey, I can say that it is an excellent album with some really fine ensemble jazz, and of course Johnny Hodges is, as always, superb.Once again, many thanks
Nice snag, Dmitry. Nice record too. Look at all that Strayhorn on side 2! I've never heard this, but it looks like a sleeper classic! How is it, D?
...is there anything about jazz you DON'T know? You're amazing.
I hadn't been under the knife 7 or 8 (or maybe more???) times and IF I hadn't done drugs as often as I did, and IF I didn't take as many damn prescription drugs as I do...THEN I could go head to head with him.As it is, I'm lucky to even remember the name, Johnny Hodges.
One of the many reasons I spend as much time in the asylum is that posters like Dmitry (and yourself) stimulate my memory!
He he. It was purely coincidental.
If you want to meet folks who really know their stuff, go over to the Blue Note board.
Dmitry know his stuff. Hope to meet him at the Threadgill gig.
Him will probably be at the Jazz Gallery on Saturday, if he doesn't get lost in the brilliant corners.:)
yeah, he doesn't know that Newk couldn't get Brilliant Corners down if his life depended on it......
