Without exhibiting too much regional chauvinism, I'd like to suggest that my fellow inmates listen to this CD.
I just got it with an order from BMG and it sounds great to me. It will be a great demo album too.
Follow Ups:
I agree. Saw him perform as lead-in for Clark Terry and the DePaul Jazz Band a few years ago. Wonderful!

I like it too, although at points it gets just a little close to easy listening or cross-over, there are still many fine moments on it. Mahogany does have a wonderful voice. I'd recommend Another Time, Another Place as well.BTW, if you (or anyone) hasn't already seen it, there's an article in the current issue of Downbeat that details a recent "Four Brothers" type of collaboration of four jazz vocalists - Kevin Mahogany, Kurt Elling, Jon Hendricks, and Mark Murphy - that offers a couple of interesting insights into the making of vocal jazz. Should be an interesting CD when that comes out.... Now lets hope for a tour!
Beautiful on Telarc SACD.
