I ordered one month ago from Towerrecords.com EMI "Klemperer Legacy" Brahms symp 2-4, but today they informed me they cancelled these "special order" items b/c they can't find'em!Anyone know where I can buy'em or other versions of Brahms 2-4 worthy? I already have versions by Berliner/Abbado (VERY disappointing), and Szell (love the music, need better sonics)...
Follow Ups:
You can find Brahms Symphonies 2 and 3 in the Klemperer Legacy on Amazon.com. You can also get the 1st. There is a 4th, too, but it doesn't seem to be in that series.I agree with Ears that the Bruno Walter recordings are very fine. For the 4th Symphony, I prefer Fritz Reiner, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, on Chesky.

Bruno Walter's Brahms symphonies are available from Tower. Great music-making and fine sonics with just an occasional touch of steeliness in the strings.

For classical imports from Europe, the first place I usually look is HMV.com. Even though they're in Canada, they seem to have most of the titles in the European classical catalog. And since they're in Canada the disc prices & shipping charges are usually cheaper that getting them from Europe; they have the Klemperer Legacy discs listed at $10.52 USD. If HMV doesn't have something I'm looking for, there are are two U.K. based classical sites that have a wide selection & good prices--Crotchet (http://www.crotchet.co.uk) & MDT (http://secure.mdt.co.uk). I did a quick search at both of these sites, and they each have the Klemperer Legacy Brahms discs for 7.23 GBP, or a bit over $11 USD.
