In Reply to: What Funkadelic to buy as intro? posted by dpy on March 15, 2000 at 08:05:21:
dpy,>>>I'm looking to build up my funk inventory. What George Clinton/Funkadelic is most consistent and accessible? Bootsy Collins? Others?<<
i'd start with Ine Nation Under a Groove. Sony does have a few "Best Of" CDs and vinyl also, so you might want to buy one of those too. Booty kicks booty, though maybe a good start of Funkadelic and see where things progress with be appropriate.
>>>Saw these guys in the party scene from some stupid college movie -<<<Stupid??? NO WAY!!! That movie kicks @$$!!!!!!!!! i betcha it was PCU (Politically Correct Universary) and Geroge Clinton and the band played the song "Flashlight" in it. AWESOME movie. My all-time college flick about colleges. A MUST SEE folks IMHO.
BTW: i have seen CLinton MANY timea and in fact he has worn MY hat during a few concerts. i got some groovy photos of some backdtage stuff and concert from years ago available at the link below.
Funkin' Groovin'...
Enjoy the music,
Steven "Sassippious" Rochlin
PS: You MIGHT wanna try locating ANOTHER band of funkmeisters INFECTIOS GROOVES album titled "Sarsippius' Ark". It's a TOTALLY freaky far our funkin' good time with humor and all kinda good sh*t. HIGHLY recommended for funky junkies.
Definitely check out Infectious Grooves. It is/was a side project by some of the guys from Suicidal Tendencies. Great funky, humorous stuff. Thanks for reminding me Steve!

"Conversations that no one's supposed to hear
My thoughts are hazy, but the weather says it's clear
Please don't confuse what was said with what you heard
Destroy the meaning to the point of the absurdOh it's a thought, full of rot
Take what you got, it hits the spot
So you can be all that you canOh it's a trip, so unhip
Watch out don't slip, give it some zip
And put soem action to your plan!Don't stop, spread the jam!
Don't stop, spread the jam!
Don't stop, spread the jam!DON'T STOP
YOU GOTTA SPREAD THE JAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..."
