Does anyone know if there are any plans (or rumors) about future Miles Davis box sets. We should be due for another one soon (if they are planned). 72-75 band by any chance?
Follow Ups:
i just interviewed producer Michael Cuscuna of Mosaic where the vinyl versions of the boxes are released...and he works on the CD sets as well...here is what he says:
"We’re working on the final Miles box in the series, 72-75, all the studio sessions from then, and a few individual titles I’d like to do like the 1969 Antibes live show."

has not been released already. But apparently not.And there's gotta be some unreleased Coltrane lurking in the vaults
somewhere too.Sigh ...
Somebody must have recorded every fart. The amount of taped music that keeps popping up might stretch for a moon shot.A lot of it is good. Just passed over at the previous release times. Now that they don't play much anymore (dead), the stored stuff is deemed marketable. Other biggies like Ellington must have a Fort Knox type storage unit someplace.
maybe they'll add some reverb and hand some tracks to a hip hop DJ or 2 for some remixes
"Kind of Bloot"
I find it hard to believe too. I'd think at least twice for much of it. And although I don't completely share your low opinion of Davis, I'm not losing any sleep over the non-release/reissue of the material most seem to be dying for.
I'm listening to the Proper Essential Benny Goodman boxset at this very moment and LOVING it. Haven't seriously listened to any BG in ages and had forgotten how GREAT this stuff is! As great as Miles, or Trane, only...different...

I'm ready......lets see The Complete "In Concert". Or did they do a complete "On the Corner"? I like the unreleased cut(s) from the session that made it to "Panthalassa". Did you like the "Cellar Door Sessions"?
Cellar Door Sessions is AWESOME! Makes me want to buy anything that is out there from these box sets. They have to empty the vaults of gems like this at a faster pace.
