I'm very lucky, I've been playing in there for nearly 35 years. It actually sounded better before the renovation--it's quite a bit brighter now. Still, the best 1,000-seater I've ever heard.
I saw her play the Shostakovich #1 at Carnegie Hall a few years ago and was mightily impressed. She's the real deal. I'm sure your wife will enjoy that present.
the Prokofiev in Portland (where I play) but she slew me with the unaccompanied Bach she played as an encore.
