1.- Absolutely clueless, but he's a great pianist, probably little known in the USA, but he even recorded a wonderful album with Ben Webster which you might know. Not Cuban, but certainly latin.2.- I think you're good on this game, if you never heard the album it's quite difficult that you can recognize the horn player. Read my answer to Barry.
3.- No hits. Listen again and think about well known West Coast players.
4.- Two hits on the trumpet players, and another hit on the recording date. You should recognize the rythm section :-)
Follow Ups:
TH on vibes, OK. Interesting.OP on piano on #4, huh? Shoulda copped that from the intro, I guess. I guess then that the bass is RB, with maybe ET on drums? Not sure which two trumpeters I got right, the one I'm most sure of is DG. FH and WS can sound a lot alike, especially around that time. And if not one of them, who is the third guy? Hmmmmm....dunno.
If Barry didn't get any on that two-tenor thing, you got me. I'm drawing a blank on the pianist on #1 as well--is he Italian?
dh
#4 - OP on piano, RB on bass, we still need a drummer, and the trumpets right are DG and FH, still missing the 3rd one.The piano player on #1 is not Italian. He passed away on 1997 and played with well known cats like Lionel Hampton, Roland Kirk, Kenny Dorham, Dexter Gordon, Lucky Thomson... He didn't visit the US frequently, but there's recorded material from those visits.
CT is the missing trumpeter, I think, and TM is at the piano on #1.
Rats , erik, I was just going to post CT.
Very Goood!!!! and TM is not Thelonious Monk hahaha ;-)
#3 Could be BP and RK or the dead cat BG.
Right into the bull's eye :-)
