Some of us still work the 9-5 gigs[in my case it's 8-5], so if possible in the future, can you to post these blindfold tests at night time, after people have driven home, ate their supper, got beaten by their wives and have the rest of the night to themselves?

Dmitry, my apologies. It's not A.J.'s scene. I was so happy that I could see okay I got carried away. Next time I'll post those things late at night or better in the middle of the evening. Honesty is the the best policy but temporary insanity is a better defense. I will plead stupidity. As we said about the Dodgers, wait till next year (or time).
Forgive me,
Barry
It's OK, Barry. It's not like this place should revolve around my schedule.:)1.Tete Montoliu
2.Dizzy Reece?
3.Art Pepper?
4.A Blue Note thing

#1 Right on spot
#2 No, but he might well have been. Dizzy Reece recorded some album while he was in UK with TH.
#3 Not in this tune. AP plays sax in other tunes into this same CD, but come from another vinyl issue.
#4 No, in fact it's a Pablo Today record.
Sorry, it's my fault, I'm something beween 5-9 hours later than you. I should have waited for more people to make their guesses before giving some hints.
I'm totally stumped.#4 OP on piano sounds the closest match to me -- the playing during the intro especially. Though comping in some sections very much like TF. On balance I'll go with OP.
You're damn good Chapra ;-)
1. OP seems like the obvious choice, but I don't hear any groaning, so the next logical choice is one of the Cuban supermen like CV or GR.2. Sounds like maybe BH on vibes. The trumpeter doesn't really sound like any of the usual suspects to me. Not looking like one I'm going to recognize or figure out.
3. Seems like I should know this, but I've never heard it. Sounds like SG and another mellow tenor, maybe WM? Nice, though a little more laid back than my usual preference. The pianist sounds like one of the bop mainstays like DM or HJ.
4. Wow. That's ridiculous fast! I love this tune, nice intro. WS, FH, and DG in the early 80's? Never heard this before.
So much for me getting all your picks with ease. It doesn't necessarily take a huge collection to stump a regular listener. I've never heard any of these sides before. If you don't have the records or have never heard them, identifying can be tough. Curious to know the answers....
dh
1.- Absolutely clueless, but he's a great pianist, probably little known in the USA, but he even recorded a wonderful album with Ben Webster which you might know. Not Cuban, but certainly latin.2.- I think you're good on this game, if you never heard the album it's quite difficult that you can recognize the horn player. Read my answer to Barry.
3.- No hits. Listen again and think about well known West Coast players.
4.- Two hits on the trumpet players, and another hit on the recording date. You should recognize the rythm section :-)
TH on vibes, OK. Interesting.OP on piano on #4, huh? Shoulda copped that from the intro, I guess. I guess then that the bass is RB, with maybe ET on drums? Not sure which two trumpeters I got right, the one I'm most sure of is DG. FH and WS can sound a lot alike, especially around that time. And if not one of them, who is the third guy? Hmmmmm....dunno.
If Barry didn't get any on that two-tenor thing, you got me. I'm drawing a blank on the pianist on #1 as well--is he Italian?
dh
#4 - OP on piano, RB on bass, we still need a drummer, and the trumpets right are DG and FH, still missing the 3rd one.The piano player on #1 is not Italian. He passed away on 1997 and played with well known cats like Lionel Hampton, Roland Kirk, Kenny Dorham, Dexter Gordon, Lucky Thomson... He didn't visit the US frequently, but there's recorded material from those visits.
CT is the missing trumpeter, I think, and TM is at the piano on #1.
Rats , erik, I was just going to post CT.
Very Goood!!!! and TM is not Thelonious Monk hahaha ;-)
#3 Could be BP and RK or the dead cat BG.
Right into the bull's eye :-)
I'll try #2 first. I believe, because he said it's not an instrument he's known for and I also think it's European, I'll go for TH. I know he played vibes sometimes.#3 is a Brothers thing, well at least 2 brothers. Maybe ZS and SG or AE or a non-moaning AC. Got to listen some more. Piano maybe like SL?
I haven't listened to all of them closely yet. Are my ears supposed to be sharper because my eyes are slightly sucky?
:-DYou hit right the vibes player on #2, he's better known for his sax playing and was kind of famous in NY in the early 60's.
Not a hit on #3 but both sax players recorded together another "brothers thing".
