I am using Sony CDQ-74CN 650 MByte CD-R with not one problem in my 777ES. I haven't had a problem with TDK either although you list it as a failure. Something fishy here. Maybe a software problem. I use Adaptec to burn. Also stay away from extended length 700 MByte versions. Oh yeah, Imation is lousy on some players but they play fine on my SACD player.
