I am really entranced with this one. The mix is less immersive than many Tacets and the separation of the instruments is superb. And the sound of the piano is exceptionally clear. Has anyone heard the Beethoven Septets?
Follow Ups:
I agree that Tacet 112 is very good. Tacet 116, Mozart Piano Trio's with Markus Schirmer is also excellent - I think I like it slightly better, but that is a musical choice, I haven't heard any of their records which isn't superb. I haven't heard the Beethoven Septet yet as it isn't available at DVDEmpire.com, where I have purchased most of my Tacet's recently. Your comment on the new French release, Debussey, Ravel, comparing with the Guarneri is on point. It is interesting they both picked the same works.Leaving classical. There was a discussion, started by Eric I believe about "the best . . ." On reflection I would recommend two Jazz Piano trio's as ones I often listen to with company, and for myself. The AIX release Paul Smith Trio, and the Bobby Short Piano album by Surrounded by Entertainment as meeting that category. Just my opinon though.
I have seen no availability here in Vancouver. Thanks,
Try adagioplus.com. Good SACD source as well.
