got an e-mail from Mark Waldrep yesterday.
It was quite long and I posted a piece on it yesterday evening.

but it sure is nice to see more high quality product from AIX. They are, on sound, the best I have heard from PCM sources. Although I really like the Nitty Gritty Surround, I was hoping for more grit a la Will The Circle Be Unbroken. Love to hear that in hi-rez. Although not via AIX, I would love to see some Supertramp, more Steely Dan, Doobie Bros.(think Minute by Minute! and even the older stuff!) Some music with some good separation and mixes with it. As so much "modern" music is sampled, digitized etc. there is really no room for natural ambience, we only get reverb and such after the fact.
I agree, it is nice to have well recorded stuff, but this is a reason many people who record for audiophile labels vs. do so for mainstream labels. Would be nice to have some classics done right.
