in DVD Audio. They replaced four parts laveled as "IC xyz"
Sounds great. Until the "sputtering" noise is noticeable between tracks.
Or when the music is low volume. In other words:
1. I have been without a Sony receiver for 6 weeks while they waited for parts;
2. when I get it home, it is no better; it stil has a horrible "sputtering" noise in the 5.1 inputs.I am really pissed. There goes surround listening for another 2 months!!!
I should go to some store, buy a Sony surround receiver, keep it for 29 days and return it. Twice, while I wait for my reciver to come back from the horrible shop I go to.
Follow Ups:
> I should go to some store, buy a Sony surround receiver, keep it for 29 days and return it. <Or you could go to the store and get a decent receiver, one that sounds good and works, one without all the Sony bells and whistles that distort the sound.
Harman/Kardon, Rotel even Yamaha and Denon would be preferable.

Every cloud has a silver lining. Maybe the dealer/store that sold the Sony will let you trade it in against something else, especially given what a pain in the neck it has been.
