I am looking to get a stand alone DVD-A/DVD-V (without the Chroma Bug) player. I am looking for one that is in the same league soundwise as my Sony 222ES SACD player. Currently I have the Creative Labs Audigy2 sound card working as my DVD-A player and obviously I am less than satisfied. Thanks for the help. So far I have looked at the RP-82 (can no longer find) and the XP50 (getting hard to find)
Follow Ups:
I'm pretty happy with my Panny DVD-RA60 (an older model that came out with the RP-91 and has essentially the same cosmetics). The picture's great (no chroma bug) and the sound is pretty close to the 222ES (which I also have). The Panny's are supposed to have the best picture (someone had a website link that showed the RP-82 being the best). As to sound, the 222ES is a bit warmer and airier, but not so much better than the RA-60 that I even think about it being a tad inferior. The current model you may have the easiest time getting is the RP-72. Not quite as good as the RP-82 but is a 5-disc changer. It goes for $250, sometimes $200. I've been thinking about getting one myself to have the changer. Good luck in your search.

I also have the Sony SCD-C222ES. I decided to go out and get a DVD-audio player as well and decided on the Pioneer DV-656A (US version). It is not the Elite series, but I think it is adequate and along the same line as the 222ES for SACD. Plus it's fairly cheap. Can't say about the chroma bug though, haven't checked on that yet.
