Here are the ones I don't have and I am considering. Any feedback?Tacet
Mozart: Piano Quartets
Romantic Piano Trios
Schubert: Auryn Series
Schubert: Trout QuintetAIX
Marcello, Handel, Vivaldi: Oboe, Organ Concertos
Hadyn: Piano Trios
Mozart: Variation K.573
Chopin: The Four Ballads
Follow Ups:
I have:-Tacet:
Schubert: Auryn Series Vol VIII (C Maj D956) -- excellent (discrete instrument placement)AIX:
Marcello, Handel, Vivaldi: Oboe, Organ Concertos;
Haydn: Piano Trios;
Mozart: Variation K.573 — (best part is the Schumann Fantasie Op17);
Chopin: The Four Ballads (dual sided — with DVD-Video on the reverse).All the above are excellent. In fact I recommend all whole AIX set (i.e. those recorded in the Bucharest session). The only thing I’d mention is that they’re all about 40 minutes long. I think more could have been packed into these single-layered discs, if say, there was no DTS mix. Nevertheless, they are still very much worth the modest price (I paid about $17 each).
AIX classical which I also have:-
~ JS Bach Brandenburg 3&5 + Air on G;
~ Scarlatti & Beethoven (woodwind quintet);
~ W A Mozart Symphonies 26 & 41.(I also have several of the other AIX DVD-As — Nitty Gritty, + other jazz . . .)
In addition, I also highly recommend MDG’s Missa Solemnis which sounds exceedingly grand. This is over 80 mins long (yes, that’s more like it!), and comprises hi-rez 96kHz/24bit six-channel "2-2-2" configuration, and also a DVD-V compatible LPCM 48kHz six-channel surround version.
Just got TACET D118 Auryn Series Vol IX : French String Quartets.
Sounds great.

I have the following:Tacet
Mozart: Piano Quartets
Romantic Piano Trios
Schubert: Auryn Series
Schubert: Trout QuintetAIX
Marcello, Handel, Vivaldi: Oboe, Organ Concertos
Hadyn: Piano TriosI can recommend all of them but the Trout would be on the bottom of the list as the sonics are not up to the level of the other Tacet discs.
Heard a few tracks from this one:
Chopin: The Four Ballads
It' on my whishlist. :)
If a Tacet album isn't yet available at DVDEmpire I have had luck E mailing Dave Banas, their DVD-A purchasing man there. He has always ordered the items for me. I order AIX directly from "The DR", and Tacet can be purchased directly from them if you aren't concerned about the internet security issues, which I understand from Andreas Speer they should be resolving shortly. Re the Trout: It was one of their earliest DVD-A releases, at 20/48 rez I believe. But the performance is very nice and even though it isn't at 24/96 I like it very much and would be loath to recommend against purchasing it, if you like the Schubert, it is one of his "classics".
I put it on the bottom of the list for the sonics not the performance.
Oops, turns out that I already have the Haydn Piano Trios. I've crossed the Trout Quartet off my list. On the other hand, I don't have the Bach Octets. Anyone have an opinion on that one?By the way, it is difficult to find titles in stock right now. I'm trying DVD Box Office because of their outstanding price on the Marcello and Mozart ($25.95 Canadian), but they can't check stock. DVD-Empire only has the Schubert Auryn Series in stock. Elusive Disc are expensive, but I may have to order some Tacets from them ($29.99 US).
