three words.... Loan Me $1000.So what I guess you're trying to say is that some DVDA's are not compatible with some DVDA players? Seems like that's the case, and that kinda stinks.
I tried the disc in another (regular) DVD player, and lo and behold the menu options changed. Instead of only the DVDA options (as appeared in my Pioneer machine), it only gave me DTS and Dolby Digital options. I just wish the disc was designed to give ALL of the options from my Pioneer DVD/DVDA player. Ah well, at least I can play the disc now in Dolby Digital 5.1. Better than nothing.
No you need the upgrade from Pioneer not a new player. Read that thread from QQ I posted. It can be a painless procedure...depending where you live.
Oh cool! I didn't realize a firmware upgrade was even a possibility. Just found the old posts about it, thanks a lot! I live in L.A. so it shouldn't be a problem. Sorry I misunderstood you the first time. Thanks for your help!!! So glad I posted the question to this board.

No problem....I'm glad you didn't go and buy a new player.
