I always believed HDAD are just DVDA cut to both side of the disc.
The difference is the remastering process. correct me if im wrong.
By the way... are Dualdisc more heavy\thick than dual sided regular dvds (dual layer on both sides)? or HDAD?
Follow Ups:
Ben, I do have some DVD-14s (dual sided DVD -- which HDAD uses) and also about 15 DualDiscs. I'll try and get some measurements done myself to see if they tally with figures already posted. To me it seems the DualDiscs are only slightly heavier/thicker.However, for the sake of balance, note that no manufacturer has ever issued any warning concerning the "weight" property. Anyhow, as has been explained earlier, the weight of DualDiscs (and thickness) is actually within CD spec -- which allows for up to 20g (and 1.5mm total thickness) -- as pointed out numerous times in earlier posts.
But note that DualDiscs' weigh actually less than 20g, and they are also thinner than 1.5mm (see link below). Interestingly, although the first versions of DVDPlus actually weighed more, these never met with concerns of "broken spindle" syndrome.
Also note that what is not in "spec" with DualDiscs is just the 'optical' thickness of the CD side -- i.e. the distance from the disc surface to the aluminium pits. This is what 'throws' some DVD players and computer drives, because when the disc is inserted, they have to detect & recognise from a myriad of possible formats, unlike a vanilla CD player or CD drive which is only expecting CD. But there is no evidence that this can actually damage anything.
Hope this helps, and I trust you now have a better perspective on this somewhat overblown issue.

The difference is the remastering process. correct me if im wrong. < <An HDAD is a two-sided DVD disc. It is a DVD-V on one side, with 2ch LCPM at 24/96. It is a DVD-A on the other side, with 2ch PPCM at 24/192.

Yes, DualDiscs are heavier/thicker than dual-sided DVDs and HDADs.
