Perhaps all the slated DualDiscs for the US market will be released simultaneously in Europe as CD+DVDA? (DualDisc has not been legally cleared for Europe yet).
Also: Given the fact that CD+DVDV one-box packages are now so common here in the UK (i.e. virtually every other CD album in stores now has a DVD included), then there is no logistical barrier to getting DVD-Audio/Video on the shelves everywhere.
By the way, does anybody on the US side of the Atlantic know whether the Donnas CD+DVD product contains the hirez mixes, or was it just the DualDisc?

  I spotted it on the "Virgin recommends" stand along with other new chart releases. No sight of any plain CD version of "Gold Medal" anywhere, although I note that on Amazon.co.uk that a plain CD may exist (or maybe it's the same CD+DVD but they forgot to mention the DVD). Maybe this is all part of a cunning master plan!
  b.t.w. CD is fine. All tracks present and correct.
  This pack says "Manufactured in EU". When I get home I will check to see if video content is PAL or NTSC.
