I have a Toshiba SD 4700 DVD player
All DVD's and DVD audio plays except for one disk I just purchased.
It is Silverline Emerson Lake and Palmer from the front Row Live. it is in DVd Audio and 5.1.It plays on two other DVD players I have, but they're not 5.1 or DVD Audio.
I have my Toshiba set for analog out, using rca cables to the amps. it has a built in decoder, and I have older amps that I send the analog sample to.
I have gone into the Audio menu and changed the output to 2 channel, but I still get no sound, no picture.
Follow Ups:
I have an early SD-9200, and it had a problem with a couple of newer DVD-Audio disks ... although I have learned my lesson about Silverline, and I don't own any "From the Front Row Live". I got the firmware upgraded, and it corrected SOME of the issues. If you have an early Toshiba, that might be the problem. Good luck, Mike.
They lie on the packaging - this has been confirmed several times on this list. Set your output to 5.1 and you should be okay - providing, of course, you have a 5.1 setup.
Thanks, but this is not Brain Salad Surgery, that plays just fine.
This is a new release, and it plays on cheap 2 channel machines, but black screen on the Toshiba . Strange.
