Hi Vinnie,I'm also interested in DVD-A side of this player.
But slightly off topic how did you find the CD replay of T533 compared with your ack Dac and you Tosh? You mentioned that the T533 is comparable to 521BEE which is a player I've heard and have good idea where its stands in the scheme of things.
I found my 542 to be a major step up from the 521BEE. I original got the 542 as transport to be hooked up to a Scott Nixon dac but to my surprise I found I enjoyed the 542 by itself more. It didn't quite have that zero sampling relaxed quality but it was just better balanced and had resolution that Nixon dac couldn't match. Plus the bass was SO much better.
So any new NAD spinner has my interest.
Anthony,Actually, I just picked it up last night and brought it home. So far, it sounds even better in my system than at the dealer. I need some time to evaluate it, but pretty impressed already. DVD-V also looks great. I do not have DVD-A to try out.
I couldn't resist and took a look inside. There is plenty of modding potential, but I shouldn't need too much work :) I really do love NAD gear BTW.
> I really do love NAD gear BTW.You know having used a 542 for 6 months and a C320BEE for 2 months I have become a fan as well. NAD stuff seems to simply do what they say it will do. Proper hifi at a moderate price.
If the 533 is anything like my 542 it will sound sweet and musical straight out of the box but a little bit insubstantial but it will fill out and become more dynamic as it burns in (50-100hrs).
The 542 was subsceptible to vibration and placing it on 4 foucalpods gave a very noticeable lift in performance.
Let us know how the 533 shapes up. It should end up sounding better then the 521BEE as the 521 uses a lower grade opamp.
Anthony,My T533 is sounding better and better (I let it run overnight). Very musical sounding indeed. I will be doing some tweaks soon. I'll keep you posted.
BTW, I still need to get a DVD-A to try out.
