In Reply to: This is killing me, I don't have a DVD-A player.. posted by kingdaddy on June 15, 2004 at 16:10:18:
You can buy a low-end DVD/DVD-A player for a couple hundred bucks. Since your TV is part of your system, you've got no good excuse not to! :-)
Follow Ups:
I already have a SACD changer, and my equipment reck if compleatly full.
Look for a previous posting of mine. I explained how I use separate DVD-A and SACD players to a single analog input with the help of a couple of cheap $14.00 Radio Shack 2X1 A/V switch boxes
DVD-A players are also (by default) DVD-V players.
Yes, but my Sony DVD changer will hold 400 discs, and it plays everything but the DVD-A layer, I have many DVD-A's that have a DTS 5.1 layer and I like the sound of those on average better then most of my SACD's. Also it's capable of using a cool computer interface that allows selection of all my collection with the click of a mouse, so I don’t want to give any of that up, it make a bigger difference in my overall listening enjoyment then anything else I've purchased in a long time, well except maybe my processor upgrade. I would have never thought a new gen processor could make such a sonic improvement. I wish this DVD-A had a DTS track.
