Dear Friends,
PG, moderator of the forum of steinberg, gave me some pre release patch for test and many problems of DVD-A authoring are now solved.
Ripping now work great with DVD-A created with Wavelab 5 and Steel too (not the MLP encoded and copyprotected). It's very easy because if You want rip and entire disk Wlab5 create automatically an Audiomontage of the DVD-A with traks etc. etc.
Authoring: solved the PAL menu problem also with Pioneer 656A, and the best thing no more the limit of 32 traks that I encountered with Steel (I made a test DVD-A with about 50 traks and all work great with Pioneer 656A). Another great option is the possibility to creare DVD-A with groups!
I think that for about 600 Euros is a great competitor of Steel.

Perhaps you have an old version of STEEL. Contact us for an update to the latest version. PAL menus (which the US-bought Pioneer, unlike the Panasonic RP-91, seems to support) also work just fine.

STEEL 2.5 (due out in July) will support 9 groups with 99 tracks each.
I used to try SRC on Wavelab 4 and got the worst of artifacts regardless of the settings I used. Sound Forge and Cool Edit (now Audition) provided much better SRC performance. So, do you know if the sample rate conversions have been fixed in version 5 release?
Which one of the two methods did you use?
For best results you shoud use the Batch process method, and not just the 192resampler plugin in the master section.Alternatively, you could nip over to www.voxengo.com/downloads & get a free copy of R8Brain. Quite possibly one of the best resampling applications I have ever heard in my life!

I tried all options in Wavelab 4 that I could find and none of them were up to scratch, imho.I'll try the r8brain, thanks!
I've been using SSRC (from Foobar 2000) and it does a very good job, imho, and allows SRC between various sample rates (not just 44.1kHz and 48kHz).
R8Brain will do asnything to any other thing.
Voxengo do some great plugs & apps.
