5.5 on a 10 scale.Sonics are not great, and the bass overloads my subwoofer. There is DEFINITELY NO major sonic difference between hi-rez and redbook for this title. songs are over-produced; I thought I was getting the country versions, that i heard on the grammys. Nope the hard rock version of "Up". Thumbs down. Bought the green album on eBay for the accoustic versions.
Follow Ups:
speakers, the bass is fine.
Of course it is!! Its a pop record, not sure what do you expect? Funny, I really enjoy this disc. Production values are fantastic as well as the arrangements. It is Jazz, is it nose flute music? No, its a pop record. Also really good in surround. Listen to Diana Krall Love. The noise reduction on certain tracks is beyond clumsy. Yet I hear no complaints. Actually on the Shania album, listen to all the cuts and see if you can tell the difference between the tracks done at 24/96 and those at 24/192. It is a pro tools album and this makes interesting listening for those with a technical bent.
"Gonna Getcha Good" or whatever. I DO like some of the cuts. I'll see which sound better than GGG, which lacks dynamics.
I believe if you stare at her picture it will up Shania 4.5 points.
:-)
I am listening to the DVDA as we speak, jsut becaue she is so good. The songs are not bad, either. So I will get the accoustic version, and do without the pointless DVDA. Guaranteed there is less than 60 db dynamic range on this disc.
which makes me wonder if she can carry a tune without it. The pitch correction software is particularly obvious on this recording. Who cares; just get the video and watch. Yum.
I'd like to "bust her" (and vice versa) as you did.
