can i play HDCD cds on dvd players? thanks you for the help.
Follow Ups:
Yes, although unless either your DVD player or your reciever has an HDCD decoder built into it, you won't recieve the sonic benefits of HDCD. But it will play. For more info check out the website below:
HDCD can be played in any redbook CD player, although you will need HDCD decoding to gain the benefits of HDCD. Panasonic just introduced a 5-disc DVD-A changer that also does HDCD decoding....all for $130.00.
Don't assume that "universal" players do HDCD decoding. E.g, my Marantz DV-8300 will play almost anything, but it doesn't do HDCD decoding. I think the Denon 5900 does--check specs and/or others can confirm.
