This is just a shot in the dark, but I have the whole Silverline classics series so far (except for the Prokofiev disk), and I've noticed that, unlike many other DVD-A's, these Sliverline classics disks do not require you to press "play" to get the default 5.1 MLP format going. Instead, just press "close" on your player (rather than "play"), and the disk should start to play in hi-rez MLP multichannel format after a bit of time. (It takes a little while, but eventually it should start playing.) I've been using a Pioneer DV-47Ai, but perhaps this will work for your player too.

which has pioneer firmware, because I just ordered three of these.
Jim, I got some of the new ARTS surround pieces, Mendelssohn Symphonies, and Vivaldi. Very, Very well done. And no problems playing.
I'm going to place a monster order with SendMeMovies in May, presumably Silverline (Jane Monheit, more Vanguards) and ARTS.
Always hard to pick one when the quality is excellent. I do like the Mendelsohn Symphonies 1 & 5; and the new Vivaldi albums are excellent. Previously all I had were their DVD Stereo series, I have all the Schubert releases (3), and they are quite nice. But then for Schubert my favorite is the Tacet Release of his String Quintet. It's a personal preference - I don't think artistically you can go wrong with any of them.
Haven't had a ringer from them yet. I suggest you look at the Farao and Fone labels, too, if you can find them. The Fone Piazzola/Accardo series is excellent.

Thanks Chris. When I do that in my player it appears to play the hi rez tracks but no sound issues forth. Only when I set it up via the "top menu", audio, dolby digital 5.1 track (normally 3), does it produce sound.
