Working through send me movies.com, I got a nice response from Silverline, stating that they are looking into the problem, and asked me for names of other albums I have from them and play with no problems. they think it may be an issue with Toshiba, and their authoring software. As I said before, the music is very nicely done, and I like the multi-channel mixes. I have listened to the Pierre Montreux plays Tchaikovsky (Rome & Juliet Overture, Piano Concerto No. 1, and Symphony #5) recorded in 1963 in Vienna several times, and highly recommend it, even in Dolby Digital Surround Sound.
Follow Ups:
Did they mention their authoring software? UMG has a compatiblity issue with their authoring software and Pioneer players, and Minnetonka had to update their software as well because of the Pioneer implementation, and now this problem with a Toshiba model (Toshiba's implementation of the specs has been very good so far).Could it be a loophole in the specs?

I think they are just looking into it. I understand a Jeff Dean with Silverline is involved, if you know him.
Don't know Jeff Dean, but I'd try to check out the software problem. It strikes me that the testing procedures / facilities have not been working well recently, maybe someone ought to look into this on a broader level.Best
