Have you updated your firmware? It should be at least 1.900-R1. There have been several firmware upgrades. To check on yours, take disc out, close door, then,(on remote control), press "zoom", then press 6 0 0 6, then press "zoom" gain. The version you have should then be listed on your TV screen.
Follow Ups:
it is 'zoom 6 0 6 zoom' on mine (SD900E).
Cheers,
Paul.
LOL, 6 0 6 ??? That would explain why I can't get mine to work with 6 0 0 6. I thought it was REALLY defective. Thanks for the info. Mine is on the way to get updated. The local service centre said that they just got new disks in for all the Toshiba DVD models, and they will upgrade it for $30 (CDN), so I will let you know if this works ... and hopefully the version number.
with the old firmware it couldn't play the menus on SW:EP1, after the upgrade it breezed through them.
Cheers,
Paul.
Thanks guys, I will do that. I wasn't aware that a firmware upgrade was available. If it is an old version (which it likely is because I was an "early adopter", how can I get it upgraded? I am in SW Ontario, near London and Kitchener. Cheers, Mike.
