Cadence Arita (bookshelves),

The moment I laid my eyes on these beauties at the residence of my friend, colleague and boss(the same person) I was taken a back by the exquisite finish and craftsmanship.

He saw the glint in my eye and offered to play some music for me. I thought to myself, will they sound ad good as they look ?

My questions were answered 5 seconds later when I heard the first few bars of a jazz album he played for me. Not to be affected much by initial fantastic quality sound I listened on.

Almost 20 minutes passed by without a word between us and I was still seated and totally fascinated by this speaker, I was. He was playing it throughan Arcam integrated.

My next question to him was....what do they cost and who could I buy them from.

It was totally unbelievable what a speaker this size could dish out.

So a few days later I promptly went and bought myself a pair. I did some research and auditioned other brands in the same bracket and some which were a little more expensive as well including floorstanders but nothing seem to come close to the Aritas.

I set them up in the living room hooked them up to my NAD components(521i+C320bee) and viola, I had myself a great sounding system. The speakers did take 50 hours to break in which is normal and worth the wait. They have been with me a year now and have enjoyed them every time

I played them. Never a disappointing moment.

My musical tastes vary from Swing to jazz to classical to pop singers like Frank Sinatra and others.

These little beauties presented music in a completely new light than what I was used to. The tonal balance was just right for my tastes...smooth midrange, surprisingly good bass for their size and the highs in control yet very detailed.

I must say that they are exceedingly well built. Cabinets are rock solid. Drivers from Eton(7" mid/bass kevlar/nomex) and Vifa(titanium tweeter ferro cooled). Internal speaker cabling from Van Den Hul and WBT terminals at the rear. Each and every part used is of very high quality.

Jazz trio's, quartets and larger groups sound great. Vocals, male and female are extremely real.

Large orchestral and choral works are never muddy and the speakers dish out every detail on the recording. These small guys play every kind of music I can throw at it with aplomb.

Ever since I have been a great fan of Cadence and am likely to remain so for a long long time.
