Long story,short.Researched to fatigue,reading and 'auditions'.
Heard more expensive units,some even hooked to same model speakers as mine. Tempted more than once to dip into savings,walk out of store with particular unit.So glad I did not,now.The NAD is such an improvement,most notably bass,than my previous 'receiver'.It sounds to a non 'audiophile' ear (mine) as good as several more expensive units I heard,(names withheld).Am really satisfied music enthusiast here.Just wrote to say that to me there is a reasonably priced high quality alternative,the NADc372.I do not work for NAD or any company in the audio 'racket'.p.s.,the info on NAD website claims 150wpc.However in owner manual,it is listed as 170.?????

Product Weakness: No dealer relatively close to me,(called 4) keeps unit in stock,therefore no audition.I took a chance,ordered it,and 'lucked out'.
