I believe Mike built these amps in answer to some of the more current hungry speakers out there. While the older Vandersteen's come to mind and I do believe John Rutan over at Audio Connection in NJ had a need for these amps, they also make a great amp for your Maggies. Glad you're enjoying the sound.
