Re: JBL L19 any opinions/specs?.........domestic 4301's?

These are, I'm pretty sure, the domestic version of the 4301 pro monitor (which I have). Specs on the 4301 are easy to find (Google on will take you straight to the JBL archives), but how similar they really are I can't say. Same woofer, 116a or h, and LE 25 or 26 tweeter, respectively. The 4301 is a nearfield monitor, for smaller control rooms, made into the '80s. The L19, following usual JBL practice, probably has a simpler crossover. The woofer is a nice piece - and will cost a lot to have JBL recone (they won't just refoam), but new foams are now available elsewhere if needed. The tweeters would be fairly easy to replace with originals.

Rich deep bass, and clear, open highs, typical JBL. As Bold E says, lively, and pack a punch. A fun speaker. But don't be afraid to turn down the tweeter level some if needs be............and do run them up off the floor.
