Here is a pic. Those pair of huge woofers got me going as well as the great condition of the lattice grills. The cabinet is wrapped in a cheap vinyl that has a few nicks here and there, but condition is very nice, the corners are intact, docs in the rear are still there, no dented caps, all surrounds are cloth and in good shape!Specs: 16" woofer, 8" mid, 6"x2" horn, 2- 2" cone tweeters. 130 Watt Peak. Sensitivity: 98 dB. 47 lbs each.
I hooked them up to an Pioneer SX-780. After a few minutes I think I lost the midrange on one of them and shaking the brightness adjustment affects the signal. I think we have connection and cap issues.
As far as sound, I quickly compared to the Bozak 301s you see in the rear, I think they sounded a little clearer and wider top to bottom (the good one that is), especially up top, those horns are putting out, but these Bozaks probably need a little work, too. I also found you pretty much need to be 15'+ from these Sansui speakers to appreciate them. My short listening test was abruptly halted by management.
I was not "amazed," but I really think they have potential. I'll post something on the Speakers forum when I get to them. In the meantime, I have to refoam a pair of JBL 4313s I got at the same place for $25 last weekend, as well as a pair of Original Advents.
AS, did you ever put those woofers to good use?
