2sc5200 vs 2sd1047...

Since replacing practically every important part in the signal from op amps to coupling caps I was at a loss for further improvement. My Rotel amplifier previously used the 2sd1047/b817 complementry pair and i thought i would try the toshiba 2sc5200/2sa1943 pair noted for their gain linearity and being called possibly the best output trans. Now getting ahold of a genuine pair locally that met all datasheet descriptions to the T was harder than i expected, but go figure, i found Genuine parts at a locally run chinese electronic shop. Everything from hfe, capacitance and packaging matched the genuine descriptions, (sorry but Rod Elliots site had made me very weary not to mention cracking open some below expected price packages that contained white goo and undersized dies marked as Toshiba's)..Now Im thinking maybe the rotel lean sound might have something to do with the power transistors as every amp they make seems to use the sanyo pairs, so perhaps they invested in an exhorbitant amount of stock since way back and need to use whats left??..The toshibas sound, clean, clear and with amazing bottom that never strays towards bloated or lean or fatiguing, I didnt feel quite this way previously about the sound which always staryed a little left of bloomy towards the feeling of being on the lean side with all my upgrades...Im sure this is not a placebo efect because its been 5 days and the same conclusion..Now price difference wise the two arent that far apart, but could the 2sc5200 really be that superior??..
