Tubes Asylum Questions about tubes and gear that glows. FAQ |
|
Has anyone read the new 12AX7 shoot out for Hi Fi applications in VTV Journal # 15 ?I had bought issue #14 with its 12AX7 shoot out for Guitar applications and found their conclusions most interesting, especially with regards to the Mullard tubes. In short, the best among the commonly available NOS were respectively the Mazda 1963 Chrome Plate, the Telefunken Smooth plate and Tung-Sol 60's Long Gray Plate.
Does the 12AX7 Hi Fi shoot out in issue #15 revise some of the conclusions from the previous shoot out (especially with regards to Mullard tubes) or bring some kind of surprises ? Thanks for your help !
