NHT 2.5i or VT2

After auditioning several popular speakers(under $2000) from Paradigm, B&W, PSB, and NHT, I have narrowed my speaker choices down to two: NHT 2.5i or VT2. For HT, the VT2 sounded better to my ears, but for music(my primary interest) it was very close. I marginally preferred the 2.5i, but a friend who went with me preferred the VT2. Can someone who has compared the two please comment on the two speakers and what their final choice was?
I am using a Chiro C200 amp, and plan to buy a Conrad Johnson PV10 pre.
Any advice or suggestion on the speakers or preamp will be greatly appreciated!!!
