I prepared an Excel spreadsheet to calculate rectangular TRACTRIX Horns.
I'd like to get some comments on that (for further enhancements or corrections).You've got to enter the following parameters:
Fcut off (desired flare frequency)
Desired placement: (1 free air, 2 floor, 4 wall, 8 corner)
Ratio Horn width to height
Thickness of enclosure sidewalls (will increase mouth area)
Speed of Sound
Driver Qes
Driver Fs
Driver VasThe following data will be calculated:
Driver mass rolloff FMH
RT radius throat
Radius mouth
AT throat area
AM mouth area
Horn length
Theoretical decrease of Fc by thickness of enclosure walls
Width of horn
Heigth of horn
Width of enclosure incl. sidewall thickness
Heigth of enclosure incl. sidewall thicknessIn addition, three scripts (AutoCAD) will be generated to draw the
curves you need for front and side view as well as one for cutting the non curved sidewalls.So if you're interested, I'll send you a copy of it.
