Solar energy is not in the best interest of large corporations and utility companies. As such they lobby and fund (bribe) politicians to enact laws making it difficult or impossible for home owners to go solar. Some States are worse than others. Fortunately my State is not one of them.
The utility company's main interest is in staying in control of your energy usage by chargig you for using it whether they produce it from dead dinosaurs or their own solar and wind farms.
