...that unlike the "free-for-all" that we see EVERY DAY at the southern border, these other folks are being brought here, mainly via organized humanitarian efforts, with a plan, and in controlled numbers. Evelyn and I are sponsoring/housing 12 Ukrainian refugees here on my little farm complex.
I have no idea what rules were bent or waived to get them here--Evelyn, the church, and the agencies that they dealt with handled all of that, but it was a relatively straight-forward process (I'm not going to call it "easy"). Ukraine to Poland to Germany to NYC, US to Cleveland, OH. And once here, they were not just abandoned--assistance was immediately made available.
OTOH, southern border-towns are innundated with thousands of "uninvited" migrants on a daily basis. I recently saw a news-piece regarding one town of 29K residents with Border Patrol surveillance video documenting over 55K illegal border-crossings through that town alone this year. It's no wonder the residents are pissed.
