Thanks, pictureguy. Mine is a 2005, so it's after the '04 engineering changes. I wanted the stroked engine, and 8K RPM is adequate for a redline, I'd say.
FWIW, I drive the car in a spirited fashion (who wouldn't?) but rarely really push it, and never close to its limits. As far as I'm concerned, the car's abilities exceed my own, or maybe I just don't feel the need for the adrenaline rush anymore. The S2K is notorious for wearing out rear tires, but I only drive the car about 4K miles a year or less, so they'll still last a while. It's definitely a garage queen, but I don't have much in the way of toys these days - just the car and my stereo, albeit both are admittedly expensive toys.
I never buy anything from China if I can possibly avoid it...rather like selling arrows to the Indians, I'd say.
I'll look into the Bridgestones.
