I ran Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on mine. But I was a 4-season driver. Still and all? Rain driving was a religious experience.
Mine came with Pole Position S-02 from Bridgestone......The same size as the same year Porsche Boxster. BUT a different 'run' of the tire......Same name / branding but DIFFERENT.
Wifes Mazdz came with W- or Z- Rated Yokohamas. Expensive to own. A decent tire but I think you can beat 'em for the $$$.
Get RID of 10 year old tires on that high-performance machine. And by all means? Get a complete set of 4. Mine ran about 2 rears per front, so you always have THAT to look forward to.
Is your model of the S-2000 17" or 16" ?? I think the break yhear was '04.....?
And I would ONLY buy a Tier 1 Tire. That limits you to about 6 or 8 name brands and NOTHING from China, if possible.
I'm thinking Pole Position S-04 if you have a 17" wheel......A very good tire.
Be careful! Last set of Michelin I bought (a touring / passanger car tire) came with 8 1/2 32s of tread, not the traditional 10/32 or 11/32
Too much is never enough
