There are lots of different "breeds" of rice with different characteristics, and the same for beans (or any legume) dried, or canned.
Add a protein of your choice, or vegetables and seasonings of your choice, but you can make a dramatically different meal every day of the week with a base of beans and rice--that includes lentils, peas, and edamame.
