Sunright Tea Studio started in Southern California, smartly setting up in or near college towns.
Sunright Tea Studio has now expanded to, among other places, NorCal. I couldn't capture the entire ceiling, which has Sunright's motto, of shaking your drink 17 times.
Customers do order online, and some try their luck, calling. But many just walk in, and order from the screens. Most drinks can be adjusted for sweetness and ice level.
The regular brown sugar boba can be soft on the outside, firmer in the middle. To me, the boba can be on the bland side. And if you keep your drink out for hours, the boba sticks/clumps together.
Almond milk and oat milk were offered as non-dairy substitutes, but I did not see soy milk.
From left to right are (1) boba milk tea, (2) peach jasmine tea, (3) Oreo brûlée boba milk, and (4) mochi matcha frostie with red bean.
In the boba milk tea, you actually do taste the tea, more than the milk. The peach jasmine tea is gently fragrant, and mildly on the light and refreshing side. The Oreo brûlée boba milk (a) does not have anything crunchy, (b) is lighter than, for example, iTea's, and (c) has the crumbs stick to the side of the cup. My wife says that the red beans are second to that of the late Sweet Booth in Oakland - and that's high praise.
Though not as light and refreshing as Teaspoon, the drinks at Sunright Tea Studio lean that direction. We can see why Sunright is popular in SoCal, which has even hotter climates, than the Bay Area.
